The port of Agia Roumeli is located at the exit of the Samaria gorge in front of the settlement of the same name.

Agia Roumeli is a small coastal settlement in southwest Crete. It is administratively under the Municipality of Sfakion of the prefecture of Chania and is located between Chora Sfakion and Paleochora.

The White Mountains with their high peaks and deep gorges keep Agia Roumeli isolated.

No road reaches there and all communication with the neighboring areas is carried out only by sea with the boats from Chora Sfakion, which makes several routes every day in the summer, from Paliochora and Sougia.
