Chania International Airport - Ioannis Daskalogiannis, is located 15 km away from Chania city, in the peninsula of Akrotiri, over the gulf fo Souda. First terminal operated 1967.

The airport is named after Daskalogiannis, a Cretan rebel against Ottoman rule in the 18th century and is a joint civil–military airport. It is the sixth busiest airport in Greece.

The airport operates on a 24 hours base all year round.
