The port of Chios is the central port of the island and is located in the central-eastern part of Chios. It is 3.5 nautical miles from the Eritrean peninsula at the height of Cesme. The maximum capacity on ships is 2 passenger/trucks of 20,000 tons each and one of 700 tons. The maximum depth of the port is 8.20 meters.

Chios is connected to mainland Greece with regular ferry services from the port of Piraeus and Kavala.

In its southern part there is a marina, which accommodates many fishing and sailing boats as well as pleasure boats.

Chios also has the port of Mesta in the southwest of the island.
