Info
The port of Heraklion is divided into the old, Venetian port and the new port for passengers and goods.

The Venetian port of Heraklion is located at the end of 25th August Street, the pedestrian street that starts from the center (Meidani, Lions) and ends at the Koules fortress. It is the old port of Heraklion, which today hosts boats and yachts, and its history is as old as the city of Heraklion.

In the new modern passenger and cargo port there is the passenger station and the piers for the ferries to and from Piraeus.

Itineraries run daily, with ships departing at night and arriving early in the morning, while in the summer there are also daytime routes.

In recent years, a special effort has been made so that the port of Heraklion offers modern services to travelers. A significant improvement is the new passenger station that makes the passengers' stay pleasant in the new facilities with an area of 2,500 sq.m.

At the passenger station of the port you also have the possibility to check-in or check-out for your flight from Heraklion airport.

Also at the passenger station you can store your luggage temporarily or connect to the Internet wirelessly with your laptop.

The new port of Heraklion receives 2 million passengers a year, both from the daily routes from Piraeus, Santorini and other islands, but also from cruise ships that stop in Heraklion for a visit to Knossos and the city of Heraklion.
