Tinos is famous for its religious tradition due to the many churches. The most important is the church of Panagia Evangelistria. Thousands travel every year to worship the icon of the Virgin Mary housed in the church. On August 15, the faithful fulfill their wish to Panagia, starting from the harbor on their knees, thus reaching the entrance of the church.
