The Port of Thessaloniki is the main maritime gateway of Southeast, Central and Eastern Europe strategically located in Northern Greece close to the major trans-European highway and railway networks with direct access to the countries of Southeast Europe.

The port is in a privileged position at the crossroads of land transport networks. It is 16 km from the International Airport "Macedonia" and 1 km from the Thessaloniki Railway Station.

Passenger Port
The passenger port of Thessaloniki meets the needs of maritime passenger traffic (coastal ferries and cruises).
Passenger traffic is served by a modern passenger station located close (500 m) to the city center. The "Macedonia" passenger station is housed in a renovated neoclassical building. Its rooms are modern, of high standards and meet the requirements of the Schengen treaty. It also includes Duty Free shops and Infokiosks, which contribute to the creation of a friendly environment and the provision of high quality services to passengers.
The services offered to passengers include: free luggage storage, air-conditioned lounges, canteens, payphones, luggage carriers, taxi stands, parking areas, tourist buses and service and information kiosks of tourist offices.

Conventional Port
Conventional cargoes are accommodated in the Land Zone of the port of Thessaloniki in a total area of ​​approximately 1,000,000 square meters with quays 4,000 mm long and up to 12 deep. From the conventional Community port are handled: Community cargo from/to EU member states and Community/domestic cargo from/to Greek ports.

Container Terminal
The Container Station was designed and built according to modern technologies and is equipped with modern container handling machines. The station includes manned technical support facilities and is connected by a double rail line to the national rail network.

Cargo: Loading, unloading, handling and storage of all types of cargo (containers, bulk and general cargo to and from: ships, trucks and railcars.

Ships: Mooring, mooring, water supply, electricity supply, telecommunications, ship waste management.

Passengers: The modern passenger terminal provides passengers on board and cruise ships with a wide range of services.
