The port of Perama is the westernmost end of Piraeus. It is 9.6 kilometers from Piraeus and 14.3 kilometers from the center of Athens.

The port of Perama is connected by ferry to Salamina. The ferry connection between Perama and Salamina is very frequent as during the day there are routes every 15 minutes, which are reduced only in the early morning when the traffic is also reduced.

The number of routes is so great that, according to Eurostat data, it is the second busiest sea connection in Europe, with more than 11 million passengers and 4 million cars using it on a daily basis.
